When it comes to applying makeup, one of the toughest parts has to be applying false lashes. It’s a bizarre procedure, but they will elevate your look tenfold. Plus, anyone can pull them off – as long as you’re following some do’s and don'ts for wearing false lashes.

In this article, we will give you some vital tips to ensure your new lashes are perfect!

Measure & trim your false lashes first

We all look different, so it’s not breaking news that lashes don’t fit straight from the package. Some may be longer or wider for your eyes.

This is a common mistake people make when applying. People often think false lashes are one-size-fits-all. They’re not.

When measuring your false lashes, the eyelash strip should follow your natural eyelashes and not overhang. If they are too long, you can even trim the individual lashes to give them a more natural finish.

A tip to keep in mind- the lashes should be longer towards the outer corner of the eye and shorter towards the inner corner of the eye.

When applying, be careful with the glue

When your false lashes are ready to be donned, you want to take extra care with the amount of glue used. Keep it to a thin layer, nothing too much and apply it across the whole of the lash line. This will help to avoid the whole “half stuck half falling off” look later in the night!

If needed, add an extra layer in the corners. But not too much!

Make sure you apply them upwards

When applying the lashes, positioning is everything. Don’t apply to the eyelid straight on. Always come from the upward position. Keep your eyes open too, so you can see what’s happening!

When removing, use cotton buds and oil-free makeup remover.

To avoid damage to both your lashes and your skin, we recommend using cotton buds and oil free makeup remover to remove your lashes at the end of the day/night. Firstly, soak the cotton bud with your remover and gently rub it on your lash line. This will allow your false lashes to come off smoothly with no tears or issues.

Avoid using oil on the false lashes. The oil left on the lash will make it difficult for the glue to bind to your lash line the next time.
